FLSmidth contracts come into effect
Following an announcement in August 2018 that FLSmidth had signed contracts
for two Central American cement plants, these contracts have now been made
effective. The two contracts awarded to FLSmidth are for one greenfield
and one brownfield cement plant. Together these plants will be worth over
E
250 million and will form part of FLSmidth’s order intake for 3Q18.
With planned locations in Central America, the plants are expected to
supply cement predominantly to local markets. Commissioning is likely to
be within 24 to 36 months and the plants, once operational, will have a
capacity of 2000 and 3500 tpd, respectively. Both contracts include plans for
design and engineering, equipment supply, automation systems, training, and
advisory services for installation and commissioning.
“These orders mark the culmination of a close collaboration between the
customer and FLSmidth, and demonstrate our ability to work with contractors
from anywhere in the world, based on our experience and competencies from
the cement industry, our global presence, and the know-how of our 12 000
employees,” said Jan Kjaersgaard, President of Cement at FLSmidth. “We are
extremely proud to have been chosen as the supplier of these two cement
plants.”
Pakistan
Loesche receives order from Flying Cement Co.
Loesche has received an order for the delivery of a vertical roller mill (VRM). This
mill will be part of the Flying Cement Co.’s (FCCL) new 7000 tpd production line.
The raw material mill will grind 600 tph of cement raw material at the FCCL
cement plant in Mangowal, in the heart of Punjab. The plant predominantly
produces ordinary portland cement.
Alongside the mill, FCCL has also ordered a Hurriclon system from ATEC, a
member of the Loesche Group. This system will separate the finished material
from the gas flow leaving the mill. Hurriclon systems reduce pressure losses by
30% or more, compared to conventional cyclone separators. This results in a
lower energy demand, as product separation is considerably reduced by the
compact construction of the Hurriclons.
Loesche mills have a high market presence in Pakistan, with 30 VRMs already
in successful operation at Pakistani cement plants.
Russia
New grinding plant officially opened
Eurocement has officially opened a new grinding plant for the semi-dry
cement production line at its Mordovcement plant. The opening was attended
by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mordovia, Vladimir Sushkov, as well
as the Chairman of Eurocement Group, Filaret Galchov.
The new grinding plant completes the semi-dry production line at
Mordovcement, which also has both wet and dry lines. Eurocement invested
RUB5 billion in the new plant, including RUB500 million in 2018.
The new grinding complex includes two ball mills with a capacity of
2.6 million tpy, a 50 000 t clinker storage facility, and cement silos. Suppliers
to the plant included Christian Pfeiffer, Claudius Peters, Aumund, and
KHD Humboldt Wedag.
