Introduction
Companies write business or strategic plans to help
guide their future. They develop budgets to help
them monitor their progress. They also establish
mission statements and slogans to help people better
understand who they are and what they are about.
They have core values and a culture that defines
them. Like many other businesses, CalPortland
participates in all these things. However, the
most important core value is the company’s
ingrained culture of safety. We truly want
every employee to go home at the end
of each shift as healthy as when they
arrived. We call this programme:
