The State of
the Conference
Ted Richardson, IEEE-IAS Cement Industry Committee Chair,
explains the continuing vision behind the IEEE-IAS/PCA Cement
Industry Technical Conference.
Introduction
This year’s conference event in Nashville, Tennessee,
marks the 60
th
anniversary of the Cement Industry
Committee (CIC) of the IEEE Process Industries
Department’s Industry Applications Society. In
conjunction with the Portland Cement Association
(PCA), the CIC, a volunteer group consisting of more
than sixty cement industry professionals, welcomes
the opportunity to showcase this event, especially
given the significance of the progress that the
conference has made over its 60-year history.
The PCA has co-sponsored this conference since
2001. Conference revenues flow to the IEEE and the
PCA Education Foundation in support of additional
research and educational activities.
