Horne Srnie, Cemmac

FCT Combustion commissioned a new Turbu-Flex

burner for a clinker kiln at the Horne Srnie plant

in early 2020. The main targets were to increase

alternative fuel firing and to improve flame and

emissions control. The project included the

delivery of the burner, blowers and surrounding

equipment as well as a CFD of the kiln for further

optimisation of the process.

Považská cementáreñ a.s.

Považská cementáre (PCLA) wanted to enhance

the RDF incineration (over 6 tph) which creates

more bypass dust.

Therefore, the whole chloride management

system had to be extended.

Morillon is a company with extensive experience

with the unloading of difficult flowing materials

from flat silos and has several references in this

field.

The company installed a hydraulic unloader to

empty the by-pass dust silo of 8 m in diameter.

The discharge capacity of Morillon’s

HYDRASCREW unloader is 10 to 30 m

3

/h. To

match the requirements of the installation, the

company’s equipment had to be adapted to

high temperature (average 160°C, peak 180°C)

and Morillon also used inox 316L due to the

corrosivity of the product.

The machine is now successfully installed and

is undergoing testing.

Slovenia

Salonit Anhovo

A new crushing plant and associated conveyor

system for transporting material to the blending

bed were commissioned at the Slovenian cement

plant Salonit Anhovo on 27 February 2020.

Production was resumed after only six weeks

– half the time normally needed. This was made

possible by cooperation with the customer.

The new crushing plant had to be completely

integrated into an existing building. A 3D scan

was first made of the building and the subsequent

plant engineering was based on this.

In addition, crusher output was increased from

500 to 800 tpd.

The order included the following machines:

f

One apron feeder, type: RKF2500x13000-D8.

f

One Titan double shaft hammer crusher, type:

70D160.

f

Three chain scrapers.

f

One crusher discharge belt conveyor, type:

BAB2000x10500.

f

Three belt conveyors, incl. magnetic

separator and belt scale.

f

One light weight silo discharge apron feeder,

type: RKFL 1400x4000-D4.

In addition to the delivery of machines, the project

included basic engineering for automatisation

and detailed engineering for required new

steel structures, chutes and engineering for an

intermediate bin.

Salonit Anhovo was responsible for the supply

of the steel structures, local manufacture of

chutes and parts related to machines as well as

the execution of the foundation and assembly

works.

Pre-assembly of the individual machines

took place outside the crusher building while

it was being adapted to accommodate the

new plant. Preliminary and final assembly of

the equipment was handled by the customer

with thyssenkrupp technical assistance at the

Anhovo plant.

Also, to increase the possibility of firing

solid secondary fuel in the kiln with an existing

M.A.S. burner, Unitherm Cemcon delivered one

satellite burner to be installed on a separate

trolley.

Spain

Albox plant, Geocycle

Geocycle has commissioned an XR3000C

shredder supplied by UNTHA Iberica, for use at

its Albox (Almeria) facility.

The machine will now help transform 15 000 tpy

of hazardous solid waste into pre-treated waste

with the right granulometry for coprocessing in

cement kilns.

This ‘co-processing’ is unique as it closes the

loop of waste materials by optimising its use

(energy and mineral content) in the manufacturing

kiln to produce a new material – cement.

The waste treatment firm has a long and strong

experience in co-processing, with the global team

managing over 10 million t of waste – including

MSW, sewage sludge, tyres and contaminated

soils every year, worldwide, on existing cement

production sites.

The new shredding line means Geocycle can

now convert nationally-produced commercial

and industrial waste – including oil/solvent

contaminated textiles, plastics, paper and

cardboard – into co-processing-ready materials

for use at one of LafargeHolcim’s five Spanish

cement plants. Producers were previously

sending these complex non-recyclable wastes to

landfill.

Bedeschi has supplied a CRUSHER RL

650/1500 with the following characteristics:
