openings at the top of the silo were made by the

customer.

The storage area of the cleaned silo has

therefore been optimised.

This project has received positive

feedback within the group. The site of

HOLCIM ECLEPENS, also located in

Switzerland, heard about the project and

requested an intervention for the cleaning of

a similar silo. The cleaning of the cement silos

carried out in the summer will enable Holcim to

increase its storage capacity and meet demand,

despite the kiln shutdown scheduled for winter

maintenance.

United Kingdom

Dunbar Cement, CRH

CEMENGAL supplied Dunbar Cement with

1 Vertical Mill unit with a production capacity of

450 000 tpy: VRM OK-37.3 and 1300 kW installed

power at mill shaft.

The scope of supply includes retrofitting of

the existing feeding infrastructure as well as the

cement pneumatic transport into the existing

storage silos.

Eversley concrete plant, CEMEX UK

The new, modern, upgraded plant is a LIEBHERR

2.25 mobile mix plant and increases the output

capacity to serve both large contracts and the

local market.

The inclusion of a central mixer also enables

special products, such as traditional sand

cement screed, and flowing screeds (like

Supaflo), to be produced, increasing the

product range available.

As the plant is sited directly in the quarry,

materials will no longer have to be transported

from Bramshill to Eversley by truck, decreasing

the number of trucks on local roads and offering

substantial ecological advantages. With only

cement now needing to be brought in, it is

believed that this will equate to 10 lorries/day less

on the road.

The plant will have a storage capacity

of 300 t of cement, and 240 t of aggregates.

CEMEX will now be able to increase production

from 24 m

3

/h at the existing Eversley plant, to

80 m

3

/h. Using a wet batch plant will also ensure

a better quality and strength of mix.

Hope Cement, Breedon Group

To increase the effective primary air momentum,

the existing M.A.S. burner at the plant was

modified by Unitherm to the latest M.A.S. disc

technology design at the Hope plant.

Additionally, a new primary air fan was delivered

to increase the pressure to the burner.

Rugby plant, CEMEX UK

To increase the efficiency as well as the

substitution rate of the kiln burner, CEMEX UK

awarded Unitherm with the supply of a new

rotary kiln burner and auxiliaries. The 76 MW

M.A.S./7/KO.SO.X for the combined firing of

coal, fuel oil and secondary fuel is equipped

with one channel DN 175 (7 in.). Additionally, a

satellite burner DN 175 (7 in.) is located above

the main burner. The scope of supply included a

burner trolley for both burners, a new primary air

fan, oil lance, ignition burner and flame monitoring

system.

Uzbekistan

Bekabadcement

Bekabadcement, the oldest cement plant in

Uzbekistan, continues to be a pioneer among

cement manufacturers and will be the first

cement plant in Uzbekistan that introduces

the high energy efficient HPGR technology

together with an combined two-stage separator

in its brand new cement grinding unit with a

total capacity of 100 tph. Köppern delivered

one HPGR 630/13, 5-1100 and one combined

two-stage separator KOESEP 2600 - 2S. The

plant will start operations towards end of summer

2020.

Jizzakh Cement plant, Jizzakh Cement

Unitherm was awarded the contract to supply a

new rotary kiln burner for DAL Engineering for

the Jizzakh Cement plant. The M.A.S. burner

with a thermal output of 15 MW is designed for

the combined firing of coal, natural gas and solid

secondary fuels.

Kaerxi Conch Cement

Fives has supplied a PILLARD NOVAFLAM KILN

burner.

Kuvasai Cement

Unitherm was awarded the delivery of a new

rotary kiln burner for M.A.S./4

/KO.EG.SO

for

Kuvasai Cement in Uzbekistan. The burner with

a maximum thermal output of 56 MW will be

designed for coal and natural gas firing.

Additional equipment includes a new primary air

fan as well as anchors and lining material.

Zafarabad, Huaxin Cement

For a new 1200 tpd plant in Uzbekistan, Unitherm

Cemcon was awarded a contract to deliver the

new burners and equipment. Beside one rotary

kiln burner M.A.S./6

/KO.EG

for coal dust and

natural gas and two calciner burners for natural

gas, the scope of supply also included two gas

valve trains and burner auxiliaries.
