Teresa Plant, Republic Cement
thyssenkrupp was commissioned for a
3600 tpd cooler refurbishment project for the
Teresa Plant, which was completed in 33 days
flame to flame. Using new aeration elements,
the upgrade brings significant energy
savings to the plant through reduced power
consumption and increased heat recuperation.
Sri Lanka
Hambantota, Lanwa Sanstha Cement
Corporation (Private) Limited
Gebr. Pfeiffer will supply two MVR 5000 C-4
roller mills for the production of various cement
types based on clinker, gypsum, granulated
blast-furnace slag and fly ash to Sri Lanka.
The customer, Lanwa Sanstha Cement
Corporation (Private) Ltd., belongs to the
ONYX Group mainly operating in Sri Lanka and
the United Arab Emirates.
Due to tourism being strong in the country,
especially in the south of Sri Lanka, extensive
environmental guidelines were taken into
account when planning the grinding plants.
Residual dust and noise are only two of these
criteria.
Both the building volume and the footprint
of the grinding plants to be set up in a closed
building are kept to a minimum.
Most of the components of the grinding
plants, be it mechanical or electrical, will be
supplied by the Indian subsidiary, Gebr. Pfeiffer
(India) Pvt. Ltd. The core components of the
mills, for instance the grinding rollers, the
tension systems and the gear units, will come
from Europe.
Besides the equipment supplies,
Gebr. Pfeiffer (India) Pvt. Ltd. will also provide
all engineering for the grinding plants and make
available staff to support and supervise the
erection and commissioning and assist with the
performance test.
The two grinding plants, each coming
equipped with an MVR 5000 C-4 producing
around 180 tph of OPC ground to a fineness
of 4000 cm²/g acc. to Blaine, will be set up at
staggered intervals.
The erection and startup of the plant has
been delayed due to restrictions caused by the
COVID-19 pandemic.

Fives has supplied a new Pillard NOVAFLAM
kiln burner and accessories for kiln n°2 with
a view to firing high sulfur content pulverised
fuel.
Saraburi, Siam City Cement
Fives was selected to upgrade the existing
PILLARD Rotaflam burner to a high efficiency
PILLARD NOVAFLAM burner enabling an
improvement of coke firing efficiency.

Loesche delivered a vertical roller mill type
LM 59.3+3 CS for grinding OPC at the
Hoang Thach plant. The complete scope
of supply includes the mill drive, hydraulic
system, sealing air system, a Loesche dynamic
classifier type LDC, and a hot gas generator
type LOMA LF20.
