ZCL intended to utilise the existing waste
heat potential of the cement plant for installation
of a 20.96 MW power plant on EPC basis.
The waste heat recovery power plant
was awarded to thysenkrupp Industries
India on an EPC basis. The power plant is
comprised of 6 waste heat recovery type
boilers (2 PH and 1 AQC boiler at each line),
20.96 MW steam turbine, air-cooled
condenser and other balance of plant
equipment.
Once commissioned, this plant will be
among one of the largest (in terms of MW
generation) cement waste heat recovery power
plants to be commissioned in India.
Indonesia
PT Siam-Indo Gypsum Industry, Siam Cement
Group
PT Siam-Indo Gypsum Industry has ordered
an MPS 180 GC for its plant in Bekasi in
Indonesia. The mill, with a total drive power
of 210 kWm will produce 40 tph of finished
product at a fineness of 0.5% R 100 µm.

Fives was selected to supply a high efficiency
PILLARD NOVAFLAM burner aiming to
increase the firing efficiency of the magnesia
kiln.
Saitama Plant, Taiheiyo Cement Corporation
Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. has
announced its receipt of an order from Taiheiyo
Cement Corporation to supply a cement
plant waste heat recovery power generation
(WHRPG) system to its Saitama Plant. With
an output of approximately 8 MW, the new
system is scheduled to start operations in
September 2022.
This WHRPG system will recover waste
heat during the calcining stage of the cement
production process and use it for power
generation and energy-saving measures of
the cement plant. It consists of a waste heat
recovery boiler, steam turbine generator,
and other components. Kawasaki will handle
overall plant design, equipment supply,
installation and commissioning advisory
services. A newly developed VEGA boiler will
be adopted for the first time in Japan as the
heat recovery steam generator.
Taiheiyo Cement (Kawasaki), DC Corporation
Fives will supply one Pillard NOVAFLAM
burner for Taiheiyo Cement’s rotary kiln.
Korea
Asia Cement Company Ltd
Asia Cement Company Ltd (Korea) awarded
Humboldt Wedag GmbH with a ‘supply and
engineering’ contract for the modernisation of
its third clinker production line located close
to Jecheon-si, Korea. The objective of the
upgrade project is to increase the alternative
fuel substitution rate to more than 85% of the
calciner fuel, as well as NO
x
reduction to satisfy
local emission limits.
KHD’s scope includes the engineering
and supply of mechanical equipment for
the clinker production as well as electrical
equipment for the overall modernisation of the
production process. During the project, the
existing preheater will be modernised with the
installation of a new PYROCLON R calciner,
as well as a PYROROTOR, a state-of-the-art
rotary combustion reactor for low-processed
alternative fuel.
The overall project scope consists of the
following equipment and tasks:
f
PYROCLON R calciner with PYROTOP
mixing chamber.
f
PYROROTOR alternative fuel combustion
reactor.
f
PYROBOX coal firing system for process
start-up and operation balancing.
f
Replacement of stage 5 cyclones with
new high-efficiency cyclones for calciner
connection and an overall pressure drop
reduction.
f
A new kiln inlet chamber with orifice.
The commissioning of the modernised
production line is planned for the first quarter
2021.
SsangYong Donghae Plant 6 and 7, SsangYong
Cement Industrial Co., Ltd.
Ssangyong Cement Company Ltd (Korea)
awarded Humboldt Wedag GmbH two
supply and engineering contracts for the
modernisation of its 6
th
and 7
th
clinker
production lines located at Donghae, Korea.
The target of the upgrade project is to
increase the alternative fuel substitution rate to
more than 85% of the calciner fuel, as well as
NO
x
reduction to satisfy local emission limits.
The overall project scope consists of the
following equipment and tasks:
f
PYROCLON R calciner with PYROTOP
mixing chamber.
